Why is there no LAI in SSRI/SNRI on the market?

  • Developing a SSRI/SNRI LAI for MDD has been a goal for pharma development for >20 years

  • Various big pharmacos have tried and failed 

What are the challenges in formulation?

  • SSRI and SNRIs have very high solubility in water and very low solubility in organic solvents

  • This creates an almost impossible formulation barrier to achieve one month release and load sufficient drug into the formulation

What has changed now?

  • 428 Pharma identified a novel salt with the ideal solubility profile: This patented salt enabled us to create the worlds 1st one month SC1 LAI for treatment of depression
